About this coffee

Continental is the strongest-tasting coffee Miles roast. Central and South American beans go to Miles' darkest roast level, giving deep, glossy beans with intense bittersweet chocolate and a long finish.

It is unapologetically bold. Drink it as a short black, or use it when you want a latte that still tastes firmly of coffee.

A note for bean-to-cup owners

Very dark beans are glossy with natural oils. That is normal, but oily beans can stick in some bean-to-cup hoppers and leave more residue in the brew unit. If you use it in a bean-to-cup machine, keep an eye on the hopper and clean the brew unit weekly.

Miles have roasted coffee in Porlock, on the edge of Exmoor in Somerset, for well over a century. They roast in small batches, and we send every bag from our own warehouse in Minehead with free tracked delivery.

Questions

Is it whole bean or ground?

Whole bean. Grind just before you brew, or let your bean-to-cup machine do it for you. It comes in 227g and 1kg bags. The 1kg bag is the better value if you drink coffee every day.

Will Continental Coffee Beans suit my bean-to-cup machine?

It can, with a little care. Continental is a very dark, glossy roast, and oily beans can stick in some hoppers. Clean the brew unit weekly and stir the hopper if the grinder runs empty while beans remain.

How long does a 1kg bag last?

A bean-to-cup machine uses roughly 7 to 14g of beans a drink, depending on the strength you set. So 1kg makes about 70 to 140 drinks: around a month at three or four coffees a day.
