About this product

SoftBalls are small, food-grade resin spheres that sit in your coffee machine's water tank and reduce the minerals that turn into limescale. There is nothing to fit or set: drop the pouch in and fill the tank as normal.

They are most useful in hard water areas, alongside regular descaling. If your machine takes a DLSC002 water filter, use that first; SoftBalls add a little extra protection.

Where they fit in

Limescale forms when hard water is heated, so it builds fastest in hard water areas, which cover much of the south and east of England. SoftBalls slow it down; they do not replace descaling. Keep descaling when your machine asks, with EcoDecalk or our own Universal Descaler.

How do I use them?

Put the pouch in your machine's water tank and fill the tank as usual. Replace them as often as the pack says.

Do I still need to descale?

Yes. SoftBalls slow limescale; they do not stop it. Keep descaling when your machine asks.

Will they work with my machine?

They suit most De'Longhi water tanks. If your machine takes a DLSC002 filter, that filter is the first thing to use; SoftBalls add extra protection in hard water.

What if it is not right?
